Lauren and Duayne were married at St Mary's Church in New Haven, CT. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding and we had a great time taking photos at the Eli Whitney Museum and East Rock Park. Seeing how they look at each other it is clear they will be together forever. Wishing you many happy years!
I first met Katie in 1998. We became fast friends and have stayed in touch ever since. There have sometimes been months without talking, but we always pick up right where we left off. When she brought this guy Seth to my wedding 2 years ago I could see a spark. They were introduced by a mutual friend Tom, who thought they might make a good match. However, the first time Seth and Katie met in person at the Black Cat in DC, Seth was wearing his "Paris pants" and sporting a large afro, so Katie was a little unsure. Seth, in his wisdom and persistence, quickly won Katie over. (It also helped that he got a super-cute haircut and ditched the Paris pants.) In no time at all, they were inseparable. Seth surprised Katie in October 2010 with a gorgeous star-sapphire engagement ring and sincere wishes during a mid-day coffee break at Hains Point park in DC, witnessed by a pair of mallard ducks along the Potomac River.
Katie called to tell me the news and asked if I would be their wedding photographer. I was honored to be there and document this perfect day. Enjoy!
Last weekend I was honored to photograph the wedding of my sister-in-law Betsy. She and her now husband started dating shortly after graduating from high school. Their ceremony was scheduled to be outside at The Red Barn in South Berwick, but rain kept them inside. All worked out in the end as the Red Barn has a lovely inside space. Betsy looked stunning, Justin, you are a lucky man. Wishing you many years of happiness together!
Ryan and I met on the Spring 2004 voyage of Semester at Sea. We traveled together to Lençóis, Brazil. It was an amazing trip and the beginning of a great friendship. He sent me a message on Facebook, "just got engaged, do you do weddings?". I said yes right away and his next message was "we want you if you want us". I met Meredith via a Skype conference call and she is just the sweetest girl. They are perfect for each other. Their ceremony and reception was an absolute blast. After the ceremony they took a horse drawn carriage ride around the block! How cool is that? Ryan and Meredith, I wish you both many happy years together!
Sarah and Cyril are both pastry chefs so I knew this would be a great wedding to be a part of. Cyril is from France and his family came to enjoy the day. They chose the truly fantastic L'escale restaurant. Family and friends we treated to a great meal and as a special treat, Cyril made the wedding cake himself. It was an ice cream cake with sparklers which had to be finished minutes before being brought out. So after dinner Cyril put on his chef jacket, went into the freezer and put the cake together. Sarah and Cyril, it was such a pleasure to be there for you at your wedding, I hope you enjoy these images!
Michelle and I met in Freeport, Bahamas 6 years ago. We were both about to embark on an amazing trip, Semester at Sea Spring 2004. When she called and asked me to shoot her wedding last year, I jumped at the chance. I don't spend a lot of time at 7,000 feet elevation and found myself constantly out of breath. Flagstaff is a very pretty city, and Michelle and Christopher got married outside among pine trees in view of the San Francisco Peaks. The way they look at each other, you know they are in for a long happy marriage. Here are some images, hope you enjoy!
Bryan and Kristin have been together since high school and last saturday got married in Ocean City NJ. It was an lovely ceremony at St. Frances Cabrini Church followed by a fun filled reception at the Greate Bay Country Club. There were special personal touches throughout, Kristin made the wedding cake, finishing up very early Saturday morning. Several of Bryan's friends picked up the guitar and sang songs for Bryan and Kristin. Bryan even edited together a documentary video telling the story of how they met and fell in love. It is clear Bryan and Kristin are meant for each other and wish you many happy years together. Here are a few photos from the day, enjoy!
This past weekend I traveled to Maryland to photograph the wedding of two former co-workers. It was the first day of Spring and turned out to be gorgeous weather. They are both laid-back and easy-going which made things easy for me. Their friends and family couldn't have been nicer and Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick, Maryland was such a cool venue. Mike and Jenny, thanks for having me be a part of your wedding, I had an amazing time. Have a wonderful cruise, and a happy marriage!
Here are some images from the day, enjoy!
