As I was driving Maureen to the airport, I heard an NPR news bulletin that Tim Russert, host of NBC’s Meet the Press had died. Soon after I got a call from a co-worker asking if I could send the photo I had taken of him meeting Pope Benedict XVI to the AP. I had kinda forgotten about that photo, but of course knew it would be of interest given it was only 2 months old. I only met him briefly, I was far more concerned about my photographic duties that day than talking with him, but he was nice and really excited to be there. I got his email address to send him photos the next day, and did, and now “Tim Russert” is in my address book on my computer, he was only a year younger than my dad. Here is the photo that moved on the wire, enjoy.
