Driving around Connecticut I have been noticing so many abandoned buildings. Big box chain stores stick out most, and the Circuit City stores seem to be everywhere. These places are out in the open, part of the urban landscape, and if you look, they will stick out like a sore thumb. I plan on shooting as many of these places as I can.

wow – that showcase cinema shot is SO cool and creepy!! love it–
oooh I like these!!! especially the first of the comp USA in Orange, and the second showcase cinema one – the clouds are so ominous and that bird…how much did you have to pay him to pose for the shot? :)
Thanks guys, I am excited about this series!
Love all these shots! It’s difficult to make the mundane appear interesting, and you definitely did that with these pictures. Very interesting shots of otherwise uninteresting empty buildings.. You chose some great angles and perspectives. Wide angle lens I’m assuming? I am taking a photography class and my current assignment is to photograph “urban decay”. I live in CT and your pictures gave me some inspiration for my project. I also found a few abandoned Linens ‘n Things along Rt. 1, FYI. There’s one in Norwalk and one in Orange. I’m going out again next week to see what else I can find! Keep up the excellent work!
I loved these abandoned building shots. And I agree with Robert, that Showcase Cinema shot is awesome and creepy.
Great meeting you tonight. :)
